With graduation ceremonies canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, thousands of students lost the chance to celebrate their hard work and achievement. That’s why Dr. Andy Roark and his team are organizing a Virtual Veterinary Technician School Graduation.
• Date: Sunday, May 24
• Time: 5 p.m. EDT
The online event—modeled after the College of Veterinary Medicine Virtual Graduation held on May 3—will feature music, photos of graduates, and commencement speakers, all designed to support the class of 2020 graduates in a live YouTube video.
Graduates and guests can register for the virtual ceremony ahead of time.
Commencement speakers will include:
Kelsey Beth Carpenter RVT, BA – Veterinary Technician, social media manager for DrAndyRoark.com, and the creative personality behind “Vet Tech Kelsey”
Senani Ratnayake RVT, BSc – Owner/Founder of Motivatum Consulting, past President of the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians, and Director of Learning and Engagement at P3 Veterinary Partners
Andy Roark DVM, MS – Veterinarian and Founder of DrAndyRoark.com and the Uncharted Veterinary Community
Kenichiro Yagi RVT, VTS (ECC), VTS (SAIM), MS – Current President of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA), Cornell Simulation Lab Manager, RECOVER Program Director, and Veterinary Technician and Nurse Advocate
Dr. Roark’s College of Veterinary Medicine Virtual Graduation drew more than 2,000 live attendees and more than 9,000 views in total.
