When Travel Gets Ruff, Hertz Sends in the Gold Squad
Travel during the holidays can be a stressful experience. As a global rental car company, Hertz knows that by the time clients make it to the last leg of their trip to pick up their rental car, they’re exhausted from shuffling off a cramped airplane, navigating through the airport terminal and locating their luggage.
So, the company brainstormed ways to make at least part of that journey more enjoyable. What they came up with involves fur, four legs and a lot of smiles.
“We always want customers to have a great rental experience,” a Hertz spokesperson told Vet-Advantage. “We know that travel can be stressful, so we wanted to think of a simple way we could help alleviate that stress and travel fatigue – and what better way than with the Hertz Gold Squad Golden Retrievers? Whether it’s a few pets, tail wags or even a simple smile from our employees – we know small gestures can go a long way.”
The Gold Squad is made up of highly trained Golden Retrievers who specialize in providing comfort in busy environments. They were selected for their calm temperament and ability to interact safely with travelers. Each dog works with a certified handler to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
So far, Hertz has received “extremely positive” customer feedback on the Hertz Gold Squad. “We notice when we bring the Gold Squad out, a lot of people love to relate back to their own pets as they are traveling and usually can’t bring them along with them,” a Hertz Spokesperson said.
