A Boost for America’s VetDogs
There are plenty of reasons to feel good about working in the animal health industry. See how the Patterson Foundation is making a difference in this edition.
Patterson Foundation awards over $55,000 in grant funding to America’s VetDogs
The Patterson Foundation has been a proud supporter of America’s VetDogs for over a decade. In the last year and a half, the foundation has awarded over $55,000 in grant funding to support program initiatives, facility upgrades and even purchasing transport vehicles to support the critical work being done by the ‘Prison Puppy’ Program.
In this special program, inmates at area prisons are learning how to raise and train puppies for their future work as service dogs for wounded veterans. The vans purchased with grant funds from the Patterson Foundation will allow staff to safely transport puppies to and from their prison training sessions.
“We are so grateful to play a small part in the work being done by this incredible organization,” said Allie Krug, program manager for the Patterson Foundation. “We simply provide funding, whereas these individuals and trainers are providing life-changing services for such an important population that deserves to be lifted up and supported.” The Patterson Foundation has long invested in the mission and work of America’s VetDogs by awarding almost $350,000 since 2017.
