Webinar series will focus on basics of beef cattle management

A local Texas A&M AgriLife office is offering an online “Back to the Basics” webinar series on beef cattle this month through October.
The classes are focused on beef cattle production in South Texas and the Texas Gulf Coast, but “anyone involved or interested in beef cattle production can participate,” said Sam Womble, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent for Bexar County, Texas.
The first class is April 20 and features discussion on beef cattle diet basics and herd health management.
Future classes will focus on grazing, carrying capacity and stocking rates, operation profitability, winter supplementation and marketing of calves.
