Shawnee, Kansas-based PBI-Gordon Companies acquired TriviumVet, developer of treatments for chronic conditions in cats and dogs, including new product Felycin-CA1 for management of ventricular hypertrophy in cats. Pegasus Laboratories is PBI-Gordon’s companion animal pharmaceutical subsidiary

Antech expands vector-borne disease portfolio
Antech announced the launch of two vector-borne disease diagnostics: enhanced Accuplex, a reference lab canine vector-borne disease (CVBD) screening test which now detects seven pathogens, and an enhanced vector-borne disease PCR profile. Antech scientists estimate that tens of millions of dogs in North America fail to be tested for exposure to CVBDs annually.
FidoCure study reveals impact of targeted therapies on canine cancer
Researchers at FidoCure and Stanford University reported their study, published in Nature Scientific Reports, reveals how genomic profiling and targeted therapies can significantly improve patient outcomes for canine hemangiosarcoma, i.e., cancer. “We’re seeing tangible benefits of tailoring treatments to a dog’s specific tumor profile,” said one researcher.
PetsApp introduces AI Scribe
PetsApp announced the launch of AI Scribe, designed to automate veterinary note-taking and enhance client communication. The system is said to transcribe consultations and generate structured SOAP notes for vets. The system ensures compliance with GDPR and UK data protection laws, with built-in prompts to capture client consent before recording.

Twenty-five practice managers earn CVPM certification
The Veterinary Hospital Managers Association announced that 25 veterinary management professionals recently earned the Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) certification. Before sitting for the CVPM exam, applicants must meet practice management experience requirements and demonstrate that they have earned sufficient formal education and continuing education credits.
AVMA supports reintroduction of Healthy Dog Importation Act
Working with lawmakers in Congress, the American Veterinary Medical Association helped secure the reintroduction of the Healthy Dog Importation Act in the House and Senate. By improving current dog importation standards, the bill would ensure that a dog is in good health when being imported into the United States, according to AVMA.
