VCA releases new impact report

VCA Animal Hospitals’ second-ever impact report highlights progress the organization made in 2019, including launching its CancerCare Alliance.

The network of 35 cancer care centers, announced in August, is staffed by more than 65 board certified veterinary oncologists.

Other highlights from last year for the more than 1,000-hospital network included providing care to 4.2 million pets. These included cats and dogs, as well as birds and reptiles. VCA’s shelter program helped secure adoption for about 300,000 pets.

The organization also reported a robust remote care platform. According to VCA, caregivers addressed 30,000 pet care concerns through live chat, “resulting in 55% of pet care concerns being resolved without a hospital visit.”

“Our hospitals and associates are empowered to be a considerable force for good in the world,” said Brandon Antin, VCA’s vice president of corporate affairs. “Everything we do comes from our desire to make pets’ lives healthier and happier.”
