Software provider Digitail announced the launch of Digitail Academy, a continuing education course focused on integrating technology into veterinary practices. The free RACE and CVPM CE-approved course will start with ten on-demand webinars on topics such as implementing telehealth, optimizing inventory and preparing the practice for AI-driven patient care.

Elanco Animal Health released real-world data demonstrating that its Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody (CPMA) leads to improvements in survival rates for puppies battling the virus and enhanced operational efficiency and high satisfaction within veterinary clinics.
Fear Free launches webinar series
Fear Free, the global initiative to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress in pets, announced the launch of the “Top 5 in 15” Webinar Series, designed to equip veterinary and veterinary technician students with essential knowledge and actionable skills in just 15 minutes, followed by a Q&A session. The “Top 5 in 15” Webinar Series kicks off in October 2024 and will run monthly until June 2025.
NAVC event to focus on lifelong learning for veterinary teams
The North American Veterinary Community announced that its next two-day HiVE event will discuss how veterinary medical education and lifelong learning should evolve. Topics will include not only clinical aspects but also how to run a practice, implement innovations and manage the human side of veterinary medicine.
FidoCure to provide update on canine spleen cancer research
Palo Alto, California-based FidoCure, an AI-driven precision oncology company, was preparing at press time to share findings on canine splenic hemangiosarcoma at the 2024 Veterinary Cancer Society Annual Conference in Florida. Canine splenic hemangiosarcoma, an aggressive cancer originating in the spleen, causes approximately 300,000 dog deaths annually in the U.S.

Does private equity still make sense?
Private equity made sense 10 or 15 years ago, when interest rates were zero and valuations of private companies were like four or five times EBITDA [ earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization], financial author and trader Jared Dillian told Marketplace. But today, with interest rates at 5% and valuations at 10 or 12 times, it doesn’t make a lot of sense.
HABRI issues call for critical supplies
The Human Animal Bond Research Institute’s Pet Giving Network has issued a call to pet care companies and organizations in support of the Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton disaster relief efforts. The Pet Giving Network is a collaboration between HABRI and Greater Good Charities, a nonprofit that works to provide supplies, donations and programmatic support to those in need.
