VCA offers free pet boarding after tornadoes
VCA Animal Hospitals is offering free boarding assistance at its Tennessee hospitals for pets that have been displaced by recent tornadoes.
The tornadoes early in the morning March 3 caused extensive damage in the central part of the state, causing at least 25 deaths. Nashville’s animal control department reported taking in eight lost dogs immediately after the storms.
“We understand that catastrophic natural disasters are made even more stressful for people with pets, and VCA is here to help pet owners find a safe place for their pets during this difficult time,” said Dr. Todd Lavender, president of VCA Animal Hospitals and Petcare Services. “All of our VCA hospitals in Tennessee are extending free boarding so families can focus on the emergency.”
All VCA hospitals in the state are open and operating normally, and they’re taking in pets on a space-available basis. Officials strongly recommend families call ahead to make sure there’s space for their pets.
