Compassion-First hires data chief

Compassion-First Pet Hospitals, a veterinary hospital network, announced that Elizabeth Lund, DVM, MPH, Ph.D., has joined the group as vice president of veterinary informatics.

Lund will be responsible for advancing Compassion-First’s digital health data strategy while helping to further develop the network’s clinical trial efforts, according to the announcement. She’s joining Compassion-First after serving as president and CEO of DataDogs, a big data and research consulting company. She also spent 11 years at Banfield, where she helped launch the “State of Pet Health” report.

“Throughout my career, I’ve had many interesting opportunities to help medical professionals solve formidable challenges, drive strategies and capitalize on new opportunities,” Lund said in the announcement. “I am thrilled to apply this knowledge with Compassion-First by leveraging scientific data to improve patient outcomes and accelerate innovation.”

Compassion-First has nearly 50 hospitals across 14 states, primarily in the East. The network expanded into Florida earlier this year and recently added three new practices in the state.
