The NAVC is guided by its vision of creating “a world in which the veterinary healthcare team thrives.” That vision spurred the establishment of NAVC Gives, a new award program created to support and advance the veterinary profession worldwide. The NAVC launched this program with a $1 million commitment, which will be used for years to come to recognize individuals, groups, or unheralded organizations that support the NAVC’s mission and have made significant contributions to the profession or animal welfare. The inaugural recipients will be announced at VMX 2024.
“NAVC Gives is a unique grassroots award program that seeks to shine the light on those who are making a difference in the animal health field—whether it’s transforming veterinary medicine or saving 1 animal or person in distress in a local veterinary clinic,” said Gene O’Neill, CEO of the NAVC. “In addition to recognizing these accomplishments, we hope to make an impact on a personal level with a cash award.”
NAVC Gives will recognize accomplishments and notable achievements throughout the year based on the value and impact of the nomination. Multiple awards of varying amounts may be given out each year, and recipients will be selected using a merit-based scale by a judging committee composed of the NAVC board members, staff, and other individuals from the animal healthcare industry.
