Dr. Eckman received her DVM degree from Texas A&M University in 2001. She was a small animal associate veterinarian and practice owner in Corpus Christi, Texas, before joining the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at Texas A&M University in 2009. She is currently a clinical associate professor in primary care and serves as the Small Animal Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Eckman is involved in teaching in all years of the DVM program and serves on multiple professional, departmental, college, and university committees. Her clinical interests include feline medicine, preventive care and wellness, and heartworm disease.
