For me, life\u2019s changes bring retirement and a \u201cchanging of the guard\u201d as the Editor in Chief of <em>Today\u2019s Veterinary Nurse<\/em>. I am thrilled to pass over the reins of this journal to Kara M. Burns, MS, MEd, LVT, VTS (Nutrition), VTS-H (Internal Medicine, Dentistry), who assumed the position as new Editor in Chief recently, and look forward to where Kara will take us.<\/p>\n<p>During my tenure, I have been honored and humbled to be the first veterinary nurse selected as president of the NAVC Board of Directors and to have helped to launch <em>Today\u2019s Veterinary Nurse<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>An official journal of the NAVC, <em>Today\u2019s Veterinary Nurse<\/em> is dedicated to providing veterinary nurses and veterinary assistants relevant scientific and career content that addresses the daily challenges they encounter. Since its launch, the readership continues to grow, remaining strong and engaged regarding changes in the profession.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/todaysveterinarynurse.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/09\/TVN1809C01FigA.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-3416\" src=\"https:\/\/todaysveterinarynurse.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/09\/TVN1809C01FigA-245x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"245\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/navc.sitepreview.app\/todaysveterinarynurse.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/09\/TVN1809C01FigA-245x300.jpg 245w, https:\/\/navc.sitepreview.app\/todaysveterinarynurse.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/09\/TVN1809C01FigA.jpg 490w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 245px) 100vw, 245px\" \/><\/a>The NAVC is a very forward-thinking organization and has always fully supported the veterinary nurse profession as a vital part of the daily operations of a veterinary business.<\/p>\n<p>Kara is current president of NAVTA\u2019s Board of Directors, a presenter at international conferences, and a well-known author and contributor to articles and textbooks. Kara\u2019s background and experience make her the perfect fit for this journal. I have very large shoes to fill indeed! Lynne Johnson-Harris, RVT, has brought a vision of continuing education to the veterinary nursing profession that is unparalleled. My hope is to build on her vision and provide cutting-edge technical education and personal development to veterinary nurses and veterinary assistants across a variety of content platforms. At the same time, I want to hear from you\u2014<em>Today\u2019s Veterinary Nurse<\/em> readers\u2014as to what areas of veterinary nursing and medicine interest you. I am grateful to inherit an incredibly talented editorial team as well as an experienced, knowledgeable, and passionate advisory board. <em>Today\u2019s Veterinary Nurse<\/em> is truly a team! Lynne\u2019s impact will forever be a part of the TVN legacy.
