A new event dedicated to professional development and education for veterinary nurses\/technicians will take place this year\u2014just in time for National Veterinary Technician Week.<\/p>\n

The NAVC announced its new event, Vet Nurse+Tech HiVE<\/a>, will take place Oct. 16-18, 2023 in Austin, Texas. This will be the first event of NAVC HiVE, a new pop-up event series dedicated to bringing veterinary professionals together for education, professional development, and to address important issues facing the veterinary industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the veterinary industry continues to evolve, so do the professional development and learning needs of the community and the challenges they face,\u201d said NAVC CEO Gene O\u2019Neill. \u201cHiVE will fill an important need not being met today by any 1 organization in the animal healthcare industry, bringing timely, topical events to market, and convening the brightest minds, most passionate people, and vital organizations to engage and address specific needs and opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vet Nurse+Tech HiVE promises to be the \u201cfirst and only event of its kind\u201d and will include 3 tracks for participants: professional and career development, clinical content, and personal and self-development.<\/p>\n

Registration for Vet Nurse+Tech HiVE<\/a> will begin at $25 as a part of the NAVC\u2019s commitment to make in-person event attendance widely accessible. The event will incorporate new learning styles and technology to allow attendees to interact, learn, and develop their skills in new ways. The Veterinary Team Association of Texas is the industry supporter of this event.<\/p>\n

Each of the NAVC\u2019s HiVE events will feature 4 areas of focus: trends affecting patient treatment, issues faced by the veterinary profession, specific veterinary team member needs, and the business side of the industry. The NAVC chose \u201cHiVE\u201d as the name for the event series since its goal is to bring together a community of like-minded individuals. HiVE events will be open to all professional members of the veterinary community.<\/p>\n

Future focuses of HiVE events will include veterinary mental health and wellbeing, solutions for recruitment, emergency and critical care, and events supporting more of the veterinary team. These events will take place across the U.S., allowing more industry members to participate. Conference locations and times will be based on need.<\/p>\n
