Hanover College Puts Veterinary School on Hold<\/h3>\n

Citing overly restrictive accreditation standards, Hanover College has suspended its plan to open a veterinary medicine school, VIN News Service reported. The Indiana institution intended to provide remote and in-person instruction, but the American Veterinary Medical Association\u2019s Council on Education ruled earlier this year that \u201cat least 85% of the preclinical curriculum and at least 50% of the direct instruction \u2026 in any individual course must be delivered in person,\u201d VIN noted. Peter Ashley, Hanover\u2019s vice president for enrollment and marketing, told VIN, \u201cThe issue is 100% the standards are too restrictive to move ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n

OS Therapies to Spin Off OS Animal Health<\/h3>\n

New York-based OS Therapies Inc., a developer of Listeria<\/em>-based cancer immunotherapies, intends to turn OS Animal Health into a standalone company and list it on a U.S. national stock exchange in the first half of 2026. OS Therapies\u2019 conditionally approved veterinary product, OST-HER2 for canine osteosarcoma, \u201chas potential across all HER2-positive cancers,\u201d said Dr. Edward Robb, the parent company\u2019s animal health strategic adviser.<\/p>\n

Tartar Shield Toothpaste Earns VOHC Seal<\/h3>\n

The Veterinary Oral Health Council has awarded the VOHC Seal of Acceptance to Tartar Shield Pro Care Natural Pet Toothpaste for tartar control in dogs. \u201cOn the VOHC\u2019s recommendation, ratified by the American Veterinary Dental College board of directors, the recognition affirms the product\u2019s clinically demonstrated ability to reduce tartar accumulation and highlights its role in advancing preventive oral health standards in veterinary practice,\u201d the VOHC stated. \u201cClinical studies conducted under VOHC protocols, using only topical application with no brushing device required, demonstrated that Tartar Shield Pro Care Natural Pet Toothpaste significantly reduced tartar, plaque and halitosis.\u201d The manufacturer is Tartar Shield Pet Products Inc.<\/p>\n

Empyrean Medical Systems will enter the veterinary cancer<\/a> market by installing the Sirius stereotactic radiation therapy platform at PetCure Oncology in Seattle. The practice, owned by Thrive Pet Healthcare, will open in early 2026 at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle. According to Empyrean, \u201cCombining robotic precision, Monte Carlo-based treatment planning and real-time image guidance, Sirius delivers highly targeted, high-dose radiation therapy that destroys tumors while sparing healthy tissue and critical organs.\u201d<\/p>\n

New From Bionote: Vcheck C1 Analyzer<\/h3>\n

The veterinary diagnostics company Bionote USA has introduced Vcheck C1, a compact biochemistry analyzer capable of simultaneously analyzing up to 24 test parameters from a sample within 10 to 12 minutes. According to Bionote, \u201cThe Vcheck C1 is also the only analyzer in the industry capable of supporting 34 species, each with individual, validated reference ranges.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania, has become the 100th veterinary hospital to offer Synovetin OA, a targeted medical radiotherapy for canine osteoarthritis. The treatment, a one-time injection into an affected joint, is licensed by Exubrion Therapeutics.<\/p>\n
