The winners were Dr. Joan R. Coates, a professor of veterinary neurology and neurosurgery at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine (Robert W. Kirk Award for Professional Excellence); Dr. Wendy A. Ware, professor emerita at the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine (Lee and Inge Pyle Service Award); Dr. Raelene M. Wouda, a veterinary oncologist at Veterinary Specialist Services of Queensland in Australia (William R. Fenner Early Career Award for Outstanding Service); and Dr. Warwick M. Bayly, a professor of equine medicine at the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine (Specialty Lifetime Achievement Award).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Mars and BluePearl Launch Dual Blood Drives<\/h3>\n<p>Mars Veterinary Health and the American Red Cross have announced a blood drive aimed at addressing the critical need for blood donations in veterinary medicine and human health. The inaugural event will take place in Franklin, Tennessee, on July 10. Mars Veterinary Health employees can donate blood while their pets are screened as potential donors.
