According to the San Francisco company, no FDA-approved drugs exist to treat <a href=\"https:\/\/todaysveterinarypractice.com\/nutrition\/the-importance-of-a-digestible-diet-for-management-of-diarrhea\/\">canine diarrhea<\/a>. Jaguar Health offers Canalevia-CA1 (crofelemer delayed-release tablets) for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced diarrhea in dogs.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Houston LVT Is Clinic Champion of the Year<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/todaysveterinarynurse.com\/\"><em>Today\u2019s Veterinary Nurse<\/em><\/a>, published by the North American Veterinary Community, has recognized licensed veterinary technician Kathryn Mongrain as its 2024 Clinic Champion of the Year. Mongrain founded The Bottle Brigade, a nonprofit group that provides veterinary care to neonatal puppies and kittens with medical issues. She also works at a 24\/7 emergency and critical care practice in Houston.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>CityVet Schedules Opening of Its Newest Clinic<\/h3>\n<p>CityVet\u2019s 51st veterinarian-owned practice is set to open Dec. 9 in Aurora, Colorado. Over six months, mentees work at a variety of hospitals, exposing them to different clinical settings. \u201cSpecialty shifts, like surgery, dentistry and ultrasound, are incorporated based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/todaysveterinarybusiness.com\/new-veterinarians-0424\/\">mentee\u2019s interests<\/a>,\u201d IndeVets stated.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>FoodScience Gets a New Owner<\/h3>\n<p>FoodScience, the maker of VetriScience and Pet Naturals nutritional supplements, has been sold to investment funds managed by Morgan Stanley Capital Partners. Terms were not disclosed. The seller is Wind Point Partners. Sharon Rossi will continue as FoodScience\u2019s CEO.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>AAVMC Adds a Provisional Member<\/h3>\n<p>The American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges has selected Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois, as a provisional member. Midwestern operates a veterinary school in Glendale, Arizona, and wants to open a second one in Downers Grove, possibly in fall 2027 if accreditation is approved.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Lyon College Identifies Vet School Location<\/h3>\n<p>Lyon College has approved a lease agreement to house its proposed School of Veterinary Medicine in Cabot, Arkansas. Groundbreaking is planned for early 2025. The veterinary school has received a Letter of Reasonable Assurance of accreditation from the AVMA Council on Education.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Clemson Takes Next Step With Groundbreaking<\/h3>\n<p>Clemson University held a groundbreaking ceremony on Nov. 22 for its proposed College of Veterinary Medicine.
