The program, started in September 2020, \u201caims to build the knowledge, skills and best in-clinic practices for caring for cats and is tailored to the individual roles within a practice,\u201d AAFP reported. \u201cWith three certificate categories \u2014 Cat Friendly Veterinarian (CFV), Cat Friendly Veterinary Professional (CFVP) and Cat Friendly Veterinary Advocate (CFVA) \u2014 the program provides comprehensive education for exceptional care for cats for all veterinary career levels.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>AMC Was Super Busy in 2022<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, New York City\u2019s only Level 1 veterinary trauma center, reported 20,000 visits to its emergency room in 2022. AMC\u2019s \u201cA Year of Comprehensive Care\u201d report, available at <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/3NEyuax\">bit.ly\/3NEyuax<\/a>, showed that the nonprofit hospital\u2019s 20-plus specialties and services accommodated 54,281 visits overall for dogs, cats and exotic pets. \u201cTo meet increased demand for patient care, AMC is expanding its clinical team, welcoming eight new senior veterinarians in 2022, bringing the total number of veterinarians to 133, of which 43 are board-certified,\u201d AMC stated.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Wedgewood Pharmacy Supports Rowan University<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rowan University\u2019s Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine, set to open in 2025 in Harrison Township, New Jersey, received a $100,000 gift from Wedgewood Pharmacy to endow a scholarship fund. A different student enrolled in the DVM program will receive a scholar each year. Wedgewood is based in Swedesboro, New Jersey.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>NVA Fills Openings on Executive Team<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">National Veterinary Associates, among the nation\u2019s largest owners of veterinary hospitals, appointed Dr. Sandra Faeh as the first chief veterinary officer of NVA\u2019s General Practice business. In addition, Dr. Stacy Burdick was named chief medical officer of Ethos Veterinary Health.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\u2018Critter Fixers\u2019 Get Into PetSmart<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Vernard Hodges and Dr. Terrence Ferguson, the co-stars of TV\u2019s \u201cCritter Fixers: Country Vets,\u201d opened a veterinary hospital inside a Smyrna, Georgia, PetSmart store. The clinic\u2019s primary practicing veterinarian and part owner is Dr. Paul Norwood. <a href=\"https:\/\/todaysveterinarybusiness.com\/tvs-critter-fixers-hodges-ferguson\/\">Dr. Hodges and Dr. Ferguson<\/a> co-founded and operate Critter Fixers Veterinary Hospital in Bonaire, Georgia.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>WSAVA Offers Pain Management Certificate<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The World Small Animal Veterinary Association will launch a certificate in pain management with support from Zoetis Inc. WSAVA\u2019s Global Pain Council \u201caims to raise awareness of the importance of pain management for patient health and welfare and provide practical help to veterinary professionals who wish to refresh or deepen their knowledge in this area,\u201d the organization stated. The program is designed for veterinarians and veterinary technicians. Transaction details were not released. Headquartered in San Antonio, AmeriVet employs 3,479 people in 35 states.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>WSAVA World Congress Heads to China in 2024<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Suzhou, China, will play host to the World Small Animal Veterinary Association\u2019s 2024 World Congress. The conference is set for Sept. 3 to 5, 2024, at the Suzhou International Expo Center. The 2023 World Congress is in Lisbon, Portugal.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Morris Animal Foundation Marks 75 Years<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Colorado-based Morris Animal Foundation is celebrating its 75th anniversary this month. \u201cThe foundation traces its roots back to 1948, when a forward-thinking veterinarian, Dr. Mark L. Morris Sr., founded the organization to improve the health and well-being of animals everywhere,\u201d Morris stated. \u201cCurrently, the foundation has about 200 active studies aimed at addressing
