The project, scheduled for completion in 2024, involves over 37,000 square feet of new and renovated space.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Essentials PetCare Looks for Walmart Partners<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Essentials PetCare invited established animal hospitals to partner with the company to open satellite clinics at select Walmart stores. \u201cHospitals have the opportunity to improve overall financial performance by keeping larger-margin activities at the primary hospital facility, e.g., surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, radiology, hospitalization and advanced diagnostics, while performing lower-margin activities, such as preventative and minor illness care, at the satellite clinic,\u201d according to Essentials PetCare. \u201cThis propels a self-sustaining cycle of new-client referrals back to the primary hospital.\u201d Details are at <a href=\"http:\/\/EssentialsPetCare.com\/EPC2\">EssentialsPetCare.com\/EPC2<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>U.S. Veterinarian Pay Ranks Highest<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A surveyed conducted by The Vet Service, a recruitment agency, found that U.S. veterinarians who graduated within the past two years earned from $110,000 to $140,000 annually on average, ranking first among practitioners in English-speaking countries. Canadian veterinarians with up to two years\u2019 experience were paid from $100,000 to $116,000. In addition, the top three highest-paying countries for relief veterinarians were the United States, at $400 to $1,000 a day; the United Kingdom ($360 to $600) and Canada ($310 to $618). \u201cOverall, the outlook remains positive for salary growth in the veterinary sector, both for permanent and locum veterinary positions,\u201d according to U.K.-based The Vet Service.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Ross Veterinary Students to Use Provet Cloud<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The St. Kitts-based Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine will integrate Provet Cloud\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/todaysveterinarybusiness.com\/whos-who-in-veterinary-practice-management-software\/\">practice management software<\/a> into its small animal clinic and veterinary program. Ross becomes the ninth university to adopt the software. \u201cProvet Cloud software will be used by over 200 individuals, including students and teaching staff, to give the next generation of veterinarians hands-on experience with integrated technology and teach them how to implement it in future practice,\u201d the company reported.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Podcast Addresses Veterinary Workforce Crisis<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Covetrus released a podcast featuring Dr. Matt Salois, the president of Veterinary Study Groups and the former chief economist with the American Veterinary Medical Association. The episode, titled \u201cThe Veterinary Workforce Crisis: What\u2019s Behind It and How Do We Move Beyond It?\u201d is at <a href=\"http:\/\/spoti.fi\/3DeEDoJ\">spoti.fi\/3DeEDoJ<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Vidium\u2019s SearchLight DNA Is Available From Torigen<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Torigen Pharmaceuticals sales teams will include SearchLight DNA, from Vidium Animal Health, in its precision medicine portfolio. Vidium, a Phoenix-based startup, offers genomic-based technology to identify mutations in canine cancer genes.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>News From Partner, URvet, The Vets and PetMedic<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Partner Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care<\/strong> plans to open a 20,000-square-foot hospital in Richmond, Virginia, in 2023. \u201cThe new location will provide two distinct types of services,\u201d according to Partner Veterinary. \u201c24-hour emergency care will be offered for cases such as acute trauma, heatstroke or weakness. The specialty care arm of the practice provides critical care, internal medicine, neurology, medical oncology, surgery and in-house MRI and CT.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>URvet Care<\/strong> expects to open a full-service veterinary hospital on New York\u2019s Upper East Side in late October. Additional locations are planned on the Upper West Side, Tribeca\/Battery Park and Kips Bay. Among the team members are chief of cardiology Jonathan Goodwin, DVM, MS, DACVIM; oncologist Joseph Impellizeri, DVM, DACVIM; and chief of surgical services Karen L. Cherrone, DVM, DACVS.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Vets<\/strong>, a mobile service providing at-home veterinary care, expanded into Los Angeles, the company\u2019s 16th city. The Vets, which launched in 2021, most recently expanded into Sacramento, Phoenix and San Diego.<\/li>\n<li><strong>PetMedic Urgent Care Vet Clinic<\/strong> is scheduled to open in Vienna, Virginia, in 2023. The practice will be the company\u2019s first in the mid-Atlantic states and the fifth overall.
