As the CE deadline for veterinarians to remain licensed in more than 20 states nationwide approaches and many learning events are canceled worldwide, VetFolio, a joint venture of the North American Veterinary Community and LifeLearn Animal Health, is permitting free access to its online learning curriculum during the coronavirus outbreak.
Starting March 19, veterinary professionals will be able to meet their required credit hours in time for quickly approaching deadlines by accessing select courses through www.VetFolio.com at their convenience 24/7.
Nationwide, veterinary professionals are required by law to meet continuing education requirements in order to remain licensed to continue practicing veterinary medicine. Each state has different requirements for CE credits; for example, states such as Florida, Wisconsin, Kansas and others have annual deadlines approaching between May and July.
“Each year, veterinary professionals rely upon national conferences and seminars to receive the CE training and credits they need to continue practicing. With the coronavirus pandemic, many of these learning venues are no longer an option for veterinary professionals,” said Gene O’Neill, NAVC CEO. “We want to reassure members of our community that the NAVC is committed and determined to continue providing CE opportunities through VetFolio, so there is no need to worry.”
VetFolio’s online learning includes courses from infectious disease prevention training for entire veterinary practices to well-being classes focused on mental health and wellness. This includes, but is not limited to, courses in sports medicine and rehabilitation, feline vaccinations, congenital heart defects, urinary tract infection in dogs and hindlimb amputation surgery.
VetFolio offers 500-plus hours of continuing education, scholarly articles, webinars and podcasts from which users can obtain CE credits.
