Antech Uses AI to Interpret Dental X-Rays
Antech has introduced RapidRead Dental, an AI-powered radiology interpretation tool offering tooth-by-tooth analysis with 98% accuracy. According to the company, “Veterinarians receive real-time radiograph interpretations while patients are under anesthesia, eliminating delays and guesswork from dental diagnostics.” Annotated radiographs may be printed for the client and attached to the medical record.
Dechra Unveils Catney One Kidney Supplement
Dechra has revealed the U.S. launch of Catney One, a supplement designed to support feline kidney health by reducing phosphate absorption. Catney One contains 457 milligrams of lanthanum carbonate per stick pack and comes in a daily dose packet for use at mealtime.
Coming Soon From Merck: Mometamax Single
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved Merck Animal Health’s Mometamax Single, a single-dose treatment for canine otitis externa. The active ingredients are gentamicin, posaconazole and mometasone furoate otic suspension. Mometamax Single is expected to be available nationwide this summer.

Curo Pet Care Helps Acquire L.A. Specialty Hospital
Metropolitan Animal Specialty Hospital in Los Angeles has been saved from closing after staff veterinarians and Curo Pet Care stepped in to acquire the assets. The seller, Ethos Veterinary Health, had planned to close the hospital on June 22. Terms of the transaction were not released. “Our team of veterinarian-owners has deeply invested in our hospital — emotionally and professionally for years, and now financially,” said Dr. Jeremy O’Neill, who heads the neurology department.
Chewy Invests in LMU’s Florida Campus
Chewy Health has pledged $1 million to support educational space inside Clay County, Florida’s new animal services building, which is scheduled to open in 2026. The Chewy Health and Lincoln Memorial University Applied Learning Center would provide hands-on training for LMU veterinary students during their first six semesters on the Orange Park campus. The yet-to-open College of Veterinary Medicine at Orange Park is seeking accreditation from the Council on Education.
Standard Process Updates Distributor Network
Standard Process is expanding its distribution of Veterinary Formulas supplements through partnerships with Midwest Veterinary Supply and Penn Veterinary Supply. “Through this expansion, Standard Process Veterinary Formulas is now reaching over 12,000 veterinary clinics and an online pharmacy platform that serves more than 800,000 pet owners across the country,” the company reported.
OS Animal Health Plans Osteosarcoma Immunotherapy
The biopharma company OS Therapies has launched OS Animal Health, a subsidiary focused on bringing an immunotherapy code-named OST-HER2 to dogs diagnosed with osteosarcoma. According to OS Therapies, “The same science being used to treat children is now being translated to dogs, potentially offering a less invasive, more targeted alternative to chemo, amputation or radiation.” The veterinary version is expected to roll out in 2025 under USDA conditional approval.
PetCure Oncology Marks 10 Years
PetCure Oncology is celebrating its 10th anniversary a decade after opening its first location, Arizona Veterinary Oncology, in suburban Phoenix. PetCure uses stereotactic radiation therapy to condense cancer treatments into one to three high-precision sessions. Seven treatment centers and one standalone comprehensive cancer care center are in operation nationwide under parent company Thrive Pet Healthcare.
Parasight System Offers In-Clinic Diagnostic Panel
Kentucky-based Parasight System Inc. has introduced Sight5DX, a diagnostic panel designed for the detection of heartworm- and tick-related bloodborne pathogens in cats and dogs. The panel uses Parasight’s All-in-One analyzer at the point of care and combines artificial intelligence and high-resolution imaging.
