FDA Approves Dechra’s Canine Drug Otiserene
Dechra has earned U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval of Otiserene for treating otitis externa in dogs. The single-dose, long-acting product contains the antibiotic marbofloxacin. Veterinarians may purchase Otiserene starting in late 2025.

Aurora Hits Pause on Price Hikes
Aurora Pharmaceutical is delaying price increases until at least July 1. The Minnesota company cited a “commitment to supporting the farmers, ranchers and pet owners who are already feeling the weight of economic uncertainty.”
Trupanion Seeks Veterinary Appreciation Nominees
Trupanion is seeking nominations for Veterinarian of the Year and Veterinary Professional of the Year as part of the pet health insurer’s Veterinary Appreciation Day Awards. The deadline is May 9. Florida Practice Gets a New Home
Animal ER of University Park has moved across the street into a 5,000-square-foot facility. The Bradenton, Florida, practice offers six exam rooms, separate waiting areas and wards for dogs and cats, and enclosed outdoor walk areas for dogs and isolation patients. The hospital is open 24/7.
PRN Pharmacal Adds Felycin-CA1
PBI-Gordon Companies has acquired TriviumVet, the developer of Felycin-CA1 (sirolimus delayed-release tablets). Terms were not disclosed. Felycin-CA1 — now part of the PRN Pharmacal brand — is a conditionally approved drug for managing ventricular hypertrophy in cats with subclinical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Veterinary customers may order the drug beginning in August.
ScribbleVet Comes With High-Level Security
ScribbleVet, an AI-powered veterinary scribe, has achieved SOC 2 Type 2 compliance. According to the company, the certification “ensures ScribbleVet’s infrastructure meets enterprise-grade security requirements” to safeguard sensitive client and patient information. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants manages the compliance program.
