FDA Authorizes Emergency New World Screwworm Treatment
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has authorized emergency use of Boehringer Ingelheim’s NexGard Chewables and NexGard Combo for the treatment of New World screwworm infestations in dogs and cats. The authorization comes as the parasitic fly spreads throughout Northern Mexico.
Healthy Dog Importation Act Included in New Farm Bill
The Pet Advocacy Network has announced support of the Healthy Dog Importation Act, which is included in the House Agriculture Committee’s newly released Farm Bill and aims to address gaps in dog importation standards. The Act would mandate proof of vaccination, parasite treatment, and negative test results before dogs are transported into the U.S.

The tool surfaces clinic and industry trends, flags performance gaps, and recommends what to do next using data from the practice’s PIMS. OttoPilot is free for Otto customers.
