Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

The 40-hospital Rarebreed Veterinary Partners network has hired two executives, including the former chief medical officer of the American Animal Hospital Association, and promoted a third.
Heather Loenser, DVM, who was named Rarebreed’s chief veterinary officer, served nearly three years as AAHA’s CMO.
“Dr. Loenser’s commitment to veterinary medicine and teaching others about companion animal care is evident in her previous work with leading pharmaceutical companies Pfizer Animal Health and Zoetis,” Rarebreed reported.
The company’s new chief growth officer is William J. Griffin, VMD, a founding member and former chief operating officer of the Pathway Vet Alliance hospital network.
“Improving the profession from a care, experience and financial point of view that impacts not only our doctors but also the entire staff, and particularly the nursing and paraprofessional teams, has been a career-long passion of mine,” Dr. Griffin said.
Kim Farina, DVM, was promoted from vice president of marketing to chief marketing and communications officer. Her previous jobs included roles with AAHA, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
Rarebreed, a practice consolidator headquartered in Portland, Maine, partners with hospitals across the northeast United States.
