The North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) announced the launch of a new series of in-person veterinary events, called NAVC HiVE. These events expand the NAVC’s educational offerings beyond VMX, the world’s largest veterinary continuing education conference and the flagship event for the Florida-based nonprofit organization. NAVC HiVE will be a collection of in-person meetings with different focuses held in various parts of the country. The first event, the Vet Nurse+Tech HiVE, opened registration and is scheduled for October 16-18, 2023, in Austin, Texas.
“As the veterinary industry continues to evolve, so do the professional development and learning needs of the community and the challenges they face,” said NAVC CEO Gene O’Neill in a release.
The NAVC, publisher of Today’s Veterinary Business, hosts VMX and the NAVC Institute annually in Orlando, Florida. The launch of NAVC HiVE marks an expansion of the organization’s footprint and offering of educational experiences. While VMX is designed as a comprehensive conference covering all aspects of veterinary care, NAVC HiVE events will key in on more specific topics, offering organizers the chance to nimbly address emerging issues.
“HiVE will fill an important need not being met today by any one organization in the animal healthcare industry, bringing timely, topical events to market and convening the brightest minds, most passionate people and vital organizations to engage and address specific needs and opportunities,” said O’Neill. “HiVE will bring cutting-edge content and conversations straight to the veterinary community, providing a unique, lively and engaging forum unlike any other in the veterinary industry today.”
The Vet Nurse+Tech HiVE event brings veterinary nurses/technicians to the forefront during Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week with registration starting at $25. The event will feature three learning tracks:
- Professional and Career Development
- Clinical Content
- Personal and Self Development
More events will be announced as NAVC HiVE expands, with potential focus on veterinary mental health, the recruitment challenge, and more. Learn more at navc.com/hive.
