Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

The Human Animal Bond Research Institute and the financial services company Synchrony have formed a partnership to promote the human-animal bond.
Synchrony, the parent company of Pets Best insurance and CareCredit, will assist HABRI by:
- Funding HABRI research into the positive influence of companion animals on personal and public health.
- Sharing HABRI’s science-based education with CareCredit’s network of 25,000 veterinary providers.
- Participating in HABRI’s public policy initiatives and advocating for legislative solutions that support pet owners and help increase pet care access.
“By joining forces with HABRI, we hope to help everyone in the relationship with the animal truly understand the mutually beneficial power of the bond, which will in turn lead to better veterinary care,” said Boo Larsen, a Synchrony senior vice president and the manager of veterinary and pet care.
HABRI President Steve Feldman thanked Synchrony.
“Through its veterinary and pet solutions, Synchrony not only recognizes the importance of the human-animal bond but also serves as an important means of preserving the bond by facilitating access to veterinary care for millions of families,” he said.
“By aligning with Synchrony’s CareCredit and leveraging its strong foothold in human health care, we believe we can get one step further to bridging the important connection between human and animal health.”
