AAHA-accredited hospitals looking to establish or improve upon a pet wellness plan can look to an approved vendor for guidance.
Irvine, California-based Veterinary Care Plans (VCP) reported Oct. 2 that the American Animal Hospital Association has named the company a preferred provider of managed wellness plans.
“Our relationship with AAHA opens the door for veterinarians to deploy wellness plans in a way that allows them to use best practices, driving long-term growth for their practice, building lifelong relationships with clients and a lifetime of improved health for their patients,” said VCP President Bob Richardson.
According to VCP, the new AAHA Wellness Plan program has two components:
- Practice of Wellness, a customized plan for veterinary hospitals.
- Business of Wellness, an analytics and insights platform designed to increase compliance and support a wellness plan’s success.
Wellness plans make routine veterinary care more accessible to pet owners, said AAHA’s CEO, Michael Cavanaugh, DVM, DABVP (Emeritus).
“As veterinary professionals, it is important to make routine wellness care more manageable, both to help ensure optimal health care for pets while enabling pet owners to fit veterinary care into their budgets,” Dr. Cavanaugh said.
