Today’s Veterinary Business Staff

Pet owners enrolled in the myPurina rewards program can redeem their Purina Perks points for discounts on Petzey veterinary telehealth consults.
The newly announced collaboration aims to improve the accessibility of pet telehealth, according to the companies.
MyPurina app users may download the Petzey app, create an account and provide payment information. In return, they can get a virtual consult at any time with a licensed veterinary technician or veterinarian. Each call costs $20 before any discount and is unlimited in duration.
“Petzey is designed for the new generation of pet parents looking for services that are not only tech-forward but also deeply rooted in genuine care and accessibility,” said Ameetess Dira, the Texas-based company’s chief marketing officer. “Broadening access to affordable pet care helps pave the way for continued innovation and, most importantly, healthier pets across the country.”
Rules around the veterinarian-client-patient relationship limit the Petzey service to consultations and advice. The veterinary professionals answering pet owner calls cannot diagnose conditions, recommend treatments or prescribe medication.
