Kurt Venator, DVM, PhD

Dr. Kurt Venator has been with Purina 16 years, currently serving as Chief Veterinary Officer. Along with his team, Dr. Venator travels throughout the country to draw on his expertise and speak about small animal nutrition and veterinary medicine, as well as provide nutrition education and professional development to veterinary clinics and schools. Dr. Venator also serves as Director of the Purina Advisory Council, a group of world-renowned veterinarians who help lead the advancement of pet nutrition, health and wellness across the globe. Dr. Venator earned his DVM from Cornell University and PhD in Behavior & Physiology from the University of Texas at Austin. He resides in upstate New York with his wife, Kristi; sons, Parker, Camden and Knox; and yellow Labrador Retrievers, “Sailor” and “Chance.” In his spare time, Dr. Venator enjoys fly fishing and being with his family.
