Karen Shenoy, DVM
Effective Jan 2022, Dr. Karen Shenoy has been appointed Chief Veterinary Officer for Hill’s US. She joined Hill’s Pet Nutrition in 2008, progressing through roles of increasing responsibility and serving most recently as Director, Field Sales and Engagement. Previously, she held the roles of Associate Director – Veterinary Affairs and Senior Manager – Academic Affairs, as well as field-based roles, including Practice Development Veterinarian, Veterinary Affairs Manager, and Professional Consulting Veterinarian Team Leader. Additionally, she completed a 6-month short-term assignment with the Hill’s Global Marketing and Innovation Team. Prior to joining Hill’s, Dr. Shenoy worked as an associate veterinarian in small animal practice, as part-time adjunct faculty with a veterinary technology program, and at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota, which has grown to be the world’s busiest wildlife hospital with an annual caseload of 19,000 patients. There, she gained experience in training, public relations, management, and fund-raising, in addition to clinical work. Karen holds Bachelor of Science (Veterinary Science) and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from the University of Minnesota. She is an active mentor with the Women in Leadership and Management in Animal Health (WILMAH) organization and the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Previously, she served on the American Veterinary Medical Association’s Early Career Development Committee (2012-2015) and on the Board of Directors for the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association (2007-2011). She, her husband, James, and 8-year-old daughter, Maya, reside in the Kansas City area with their menagerie of pets, including 3 mixed-breed shelter dogs: Hoppy, Porter and Growler. They are avid followers of the University of Minnesota Golden Gopher sports teams, and Karen also enjoys competitive swimming.
